UX Flow Optimization — Colive
Redesigned information architecture for India's first property rental app.
The problem
Colive is India's first rental solution for property owners — offering property management, tenant oversight, payment processing, and eKYC verification.
The app suffered from poor information architecture. Required information was not where an average user would look for it, with functionality heavily concentrated in a single tab called "Control."
Issues identified
- Redundant navigation — Five bottom tabs included duplicative search and listing features that belonged on the homepage
- Misplaced features — Items like "My Dues" and electricity bills were incorrectly categorized
- Non-functional elements — Lock icons, smart locks, temperature history, and Google Meet integration weren't operational
- Irrelevant features — Reels and community sections better suited social platforms, not a rental management app
The solution
Simplified the navigation from five bottom tabs to three tabs that support both tenant and property owner needs. Reorganized the information hierarchy so features live where users expect them.
Process
- Mapped existing flows in Miro
- Documented pain points with Notion
- Created wireframes for Homepage, Control Center, and expanded More menu
- Scoped deliberately — excluded visual redesign to focus on structural improvements
Deliverables
Final wireframes covering the core user flows, with a clear rationale for every structural decision. The visual redesign was left as a separate workstream.
